Privacy Policy

Your files are none of our business.

Last updated: September 19, 2026

The short version: Anillo does not collect any personal data. Everything it learns about your disk stays on your Mac. The only thing it sends anywhere is anonymous crash reports and a few usage numbers, which never include your file names — and you can turn that off.

What Anillo reads

To draw its chart, Anillo reads the names and sizes of the files and folders on the disk you grant it access to. It never opens or reads the contents of your files.

This information is held in memory while the app is open and is discarded when you close the results, scan again or quit. It is never written to a server, because Anillo has no server.

What Anillo stores on your Mac

All of it lives inside the app’s sandbox container on your Mac and is removed when you delete that container (see Support).

What Anillo sends

Anillo uses Sentry, a crash-reporting service, to learn when the app crashes and how it is used. What it sends:

None of this ever includes a file name, a folder path, file contents, your name or any account. Sentry assigns each report a random identifier that is not tied to you; your IP address is used to deliver the report and is not stored with it. There is no advertising and no analytics beyond the above.

You can switch all of it off in Settings → Privacy (⌘,). Anillo works exactly the same without it.

Permissions

The App Store and this website

If you download Anillo from the Mac App Store, Apple processes your purchase and may share aggregated, anonymous sales and diagnostics statistics with developers, according to your Apple settings. We receive nothing that identifies you.

This website uses no cookies. To see how many people visit, it uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views anonymously: the page, the referring site, the country or region, and the type of browser and device. Visitors are told apart only by a short-lived hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, so you are not tracked across days or across other websites, and the statistics are only ever seen in aggregate.

Like any website, the hosting provider (Vercel) may also keep standard server logs, such as IP address and time of request, for security and reliability.

Children

Anillo does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
